Wet plate collodion is a slow, hand-crafted photographic process born in 1851. Each plate is poured, sensitized, exposed, and developed in a single sitting — every image is a one-of-a-kind object made in front of you. Whether you come to the studio, invite me to your event, or want to learn the process yourself, the work below is the starting point for a conversation.

Sit for a portrait the way it was made 170 years ago. Sessions in the studio produce one-of-a-kind tintype or ambrotype plates you take home the same day — a singular object, not a print from a file. Best for individual portraits, couples, and small family groups.

A portable darkroom comes to you. On-location wet plate sessions work for weddings, special events, anniversaries, or any moment that deserves to be captured as a physical artifact. Plates are made on-site so guests can watch the process unfold.

Learn the wet plate process hands-on. Workshops cover collodion mixing, plate preparation, exposure, development, and varnishing. Suited for working photographers, art students, and the wonderfully obsessed. Group and one-on-one formats available.
